I believe he was 1/8th. Many Cherokee married Irish and Scotish
Americans. Many today have ancesters who were Irish or Scotish.
I am Irish. In most cases it was Indian women who married outside
their tribe because the men of the tribe generally did not live as
long because they would get killed in battles. Thus unless there were
many polygamist relationships there would not always be enough men for
every woman to have a husband. In my family history however a White
woman married a Cherokee man.
