We all drove to the church on government roads in cars with government license plates, etc. But to allow a heathen to lead the choir, well, that would be a sacrilege, even if the song sounds good. And to allow a heathen republican to preach from the pulpit would be blasphemous (except when we condescendingly allow a guest preacher from their church into the sanctuary for special occasions).
