On June 17, 1775 the Battle of Bunker Hill was fought. This battle is an example of the arrogance, stupidity, and lack of concern the British had for the lives of their soldiers in the 18th century. Over 1,000 British soldier's were killed in their effort to take the hill. Only 400 brave Americans died. It was a very costly "victory" for the British. Over 1,000 British soldiers died because of the arrogance of the British military leaders. One of the brave American heros who died in the battle was Dr. Joseph Warren. Dr. Warren was a medical doctor who bravely fought for liberty that day.
