Geez Steven, do you wish me to List every single elected libertarian Republican in the country every single time I comment on such matters? I only mentioned Korhing, Leland, Drolet and McClintock cause they are the most prominent at the moment.
There's at least 20 to 30 others including Toby Nixon of Washington State (fmr. 20-year GA LP Member), Brinkman, of course in Ohio, Bob Hedlund in Massachusetts, a State Senator in Oregon, another in Montana who is an elected Republican yet serves as Secretary of the Montana Libertarian Party, at least 3 to 4 in the New Hampshire House including a close friend of the NH LP named Bif, one in Florida who is closely aligned with the FL RLC and is an Economist, two in the Texas House, 1 in PA, another one in Michigan besides Leon named Jack Brandenburg, State Sen. Dean Patterson in Arizona... I could go on and on. Sorry I can't recall all their names off the top of my head. But it comes out to about 20 to 30 nationwide elected libertarian Republican State Legislators, most of whom have had some former affiliation or association with the Libertarian Party or are currently associated with the LP in some way. And all having been elected under the Republican banner. And you don't consider Rohrabacher as a "libertarian?" Interesting. Very interesting. ESPECIALLY SINCE HE IS THE FOUNDER OF THE MODERN LIBERTARIAN MOVEMENT!!! Are you not aware that it was Dana himself who led the famous Libertarian Caucus of YAF in the late 1960s which spurned the formation of the Libertarian Party???!!! Perhaps you missed the latest Liberty Index where Dana scored Number 3 right behind 1st place finisher Jeff Flake and 2nd place finisher Ron Paul. Perhaps you are not aware that it was Dana himself who almost single- handidly carried water for the libertarian efforts in the 1990s to Abolish Selective Service. Your ignorance on former Goldwater President Jeff Flake is not my problem. You are obviously a victim of the libertarian propoganda machine that claims Ron Paul as a "fluke Republican", and ignores virtually all other libertarian Republican elected officials like Flake. --- In [email protected], "steven linnabary" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Eric Dondero Rittberg" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Saturday, June 17, 2006 11:45 AM > Subject: [Libertarian] Re: Dondero meets with Libertarian Chair of Montana > > > Oh, are you talking about folks like Ken Leland in Maine, Leon > Drolet in Michigan, Tom McClintock in California and Vic Kohring in > Alaska? > > Or, does State Representative fit your definition of "Local > candidates." > > And I guess Congress is considered "Local candidates" as well, huh? > > I mean after all, Jeff Flake and Dana Rohrabacher are advocates of flaming > libertarianism, and both have been elected to the US House. > ***** > > I've never considered Rohrabacher anything close to libertarian. >From what > I know of Jeff Flake, I kind of like him.
