I'd say the candidate would be dismissed as a quack and an idiot, particularly
if there were no metal detectors at the doors.
As for the party, all parties have their loonies, even the Ds and Rs. In
2004 the Republicans in Washington State ran a man with multiple misdemeanor
convictions and a probable personality disorder for State Auditor. He spent
his entire campaign lambasting the FBI for not investigating one of the local
police departments.
