Mr. Rittberg:
Wow, this is really impressive. The ultimate value of the LP is to spoil
races between the "serious" candidates and to provide a convenient shunt for
Republican wackos.
You have to admit this strategy is doomed to failure, not because there are
thousands of "true" libertarians who disagree with you, but because the natural
and logical consequence of this strategy is the disintegration of the LP
altogether.
If you think the cause of liberty is better served in the Republican Party,
by all means, do what you can to support Ron Paul and his friends. But if you
think the LP is ever going to be a willing handmaiden to a stronger Republican
Party you do not understand politics or human nature.

to the Right.
No, absolutely NOT, do I wish the Libertarian Party to "disband."
And I seriously doubt GA RLCers would wish that either.
The LP serves a very useful service in many regards for the liberty
movement.
The LP can and should act just like the Conservative Party of New
York State. Hanging out there as a useful ballot access tool that
libertarians can use against the GOP, when the GOP gets super
stupid.
You run a RINO, fine. We'll just run so and so on the Libertarian
line, making sure you can't win in the General.
The LP can also serve as a "club" of sorts for Geeky types who
have few social skills. The very LAST THING THAT I WANT, is for
some Geeky LPer to show up at Republican events talking about why
Meth-amphetimine should be legalized.
Better for them to hang out in the LP and not embarrass us
less tolerant Republicans.
Ahh, I guess it's okay for them to hang out in the back of the room
at an RLC - hosted Hospitality suite at a State GOP function late at
night when everyone is boozed up, even the stuffy-ass Republicans.
But on the convention floor the next day at our outreach booth; not
only NO BUT HELL NO!!
