All of it is true. Aaron Russo condenses more truth into an hour and a half than I have seen in a very long time. We should use this movie for recruitment to the LP.

I saw it on 30 July. Here is an update about it from Cinema Libre. The film is now out of theaters. The run was through yesterday, Thursday 3 August. The film returns to theaters in September. Using an average ticket price across all times and all theaters of $9/seat, I figure about 6,800 people saw the film. I've seen a film review in the Kansas City Star which indicated a fairly favorable view. The reviewer, Robert Butler, wrote, "If 10% of what Russo says in the film is true, we're all in a lot of trouble." Regards, Jim http://vertoro.com/ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 31, 2006 Aaron Russo's `America: Freedom to Fascism' Opened In Sold Out Theaters Film Grossed $61,000 This Weekend In Test Markets LOS ANGELES - There was a rush to the box office Friday as Aaron Russo's hot documentary "America: Freedom to Fascism" opened in test markets in New York, Chicago, Austin, Tampa and Kansas City. The estimated box office this weekend was $61,000. Russo, who is dedicated to providing the best experience possible to his audience, used the test markets to evaluate audience response before spreading it across the country. The film was met with standing ovations and excellent exit polls. Russo feels that the film could be technically enhanced, so he has made a decision to pull the film from theaters at the end of this week's run. He will be upgrading the quality of the footage and releasing the film this September in time for the political season. The film will be released in many theaters across the country to be distributed by Cinema Libre Studio. In Austin, TX the Friday evening show sold out by mid-morning. Chicago's Landmark Century Centre sold out their Saturday evening show so quickly, they had to move it to a larger room. Peter McCandless, a radio show host and supporter of the film, described a sold out show Friday night in Kansas City. "The crowd in the (7:15pm) showing was enthusiastic and small groups of people met afterwards to discuss it." "I am gratified by the consistent standing ovations that the film is getting throughout America. The exit ratings have been incredibly high," said Russo. "The people of America are eager to learn the truth about how our government functions. It is time for the American people to understand that the Supreme Court has consistently ruled that the 16th Amendment did not give the government the authority to impose a direct unapportioned tax on the labor of the people. The IRS Code does not trump Supreme Court decisions. The Supreme Court has defined income, and it is neither wages nor labor." The film, which has strong appeal to niche markets, has received phenomenal support from the grassroots and online community. As of opening day: * There are about 474,000 exact title hits on Google. * $509,000 has been raised to support the film through donations from grassroots supporters. * The grassroots community has been very supportive of the film, with requests from all over the country to bring "America: Freedom to Fascism" to more cities. * One grassroots supporter went as far as chartering a bus from Allentown, PA to New York just to help people attend the premiere of the film and meet Russo. * The average number of unique visitors to the www.freedomtofascism.com site each month is about 150,000. * There have been 750,000 trailer views on the www.freedomtofascism.com site.
