Franklin,

You re-posted the following:

-----
The Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus has posted propoganda on
the Boston Tea Party site, asking members to vote for their Republican
candidates.
-----

Not exactly. One of the founding members of (but not currently an
officer of, or spokesman for) the Republican Liberty Caucus (Eric
Dondero) has posted propaganda on the Boston Tea Party site, but most
of that propaganda has been aimed at garnering support not for
Republicans, but rather for "independent" Democrat Joe Lieberman.
Suffice it to say that Mr. Dondero has not found a very receptive
audience.

-----
Soon, the Republicans will infiltrate and have their subversives
elected to officer positions
----

They'd better hurry. Our convention begins this Saturday; nominations
for officer and national committee positions are already under way,
and I've seen no nominations yet which I would classify as "Republican
mole efforts."

Of 241 members, 160 have responded to the party web site's
non-scientific poll as to their former or other party association. Of
those 160, only 6% identified themselves as former or current
Republicans. If those results resemble reality at all, then even if
every member who has NOT responded to the poll is a Republican, they'd
still be in the minority.

-----
so they can make sure no BTP party candidates are run for election.
-----

Only the membership, not the national committee, can change the bylaws
-- and as of now the bylaws dictate that the Boston Tea Party _will_
run a 2008 presidential slate. The absolute most an infiltrated
national committee might be able to do would be to prevent the
national organization from recognizing state affiliates (but that
wouldn't stop state parties from organizing themselves and running
candidates -- it would just prevent the national organization from
endorsing those affiliates or their candidates).

-----
If you are a member of the BTP, don't vote for any prosepective
officer who is not a registered Libertarian voter.
-----

That would eliminate a lot of prospective officers, since a lot of
states don't offer registration by party, and since many states which
do offer registration by party don't offer it to Libertarians. I do
hope, of course, that the Boston Tea Party's members will look closely
at the candidates and carefully consider their votes.

Regards,
Tom Knapp
