Politics is not about winning at the expense of your principles. Liberty has never been achieved through the major parties, and it never will.
Running as a Libertarian/Republican or a Libertarian/Democrat or a Libertarian/Republican/Democrat does nothing but confuse the voter. Running as a LP Libertarian is not a handicap, and is nothing to be ashamed of.
