The general question with all private arbitration is
what happens when the parties are unable to agree
on the contract.

Fallacy of Open I

Why would a libertarian be in favor of any government meddling in personal
  matters such as marriage?

Private contracts, private arbitration. No government meddling.

Get government out of our personal relationships and bedrooms.

There probably should be some government-sanctioned ability
for a woman to leave a marriage contract, but if such an action
is made too easy then the institution of marriage becomes null and void,
the family disintegrates and the state grows. I do not regard this as a
  libertarian solution.
