The Lessons of Hurricane Katrina

This past week saw massive power failures stretching from Cape Town all
the way to Messina. Mercifully, it lasted no longer than a day or so.
We in the New South Africa have become accustomed to power blackouts,
which is a daily occurrence in some areas, and a weekly one elsewhere.
What made this latest blackout noteworthy, was the sheer scale of it.
Another highly ominous aspect was that it was triggered by a new set of
problems at South Africa’s only nuclear reactor, the Koeberg plant in
Cape Town. Koeberg supposedly serves the Western Cape peninsula, and
how the shut-down of the main turbine set in motion a domino effect,
reaching as far afield as Natal and the very northern border towns of
Limpopo, is not exactly clear. What is clear is that this may be the
beginning of an ominous new phase of Arse-zanian decay.

Most South Africans are rather stoic about this typically Third World
phenomenon – its hugely inconvenient, kills productivity and causes
untold disruptions of our lives. For years, countries to our north have
had precisely the same problems, due exclusively to the fact that
blacks are utterly incapable of maintaining, let alone creating a
fairly complex electrical infrastructure.
Incompetence, corruption and an innate racial flaw to destroy, steal
and vandalise everything and anything they can lay their paws on,
ensures that these reprehensible stone-age creatures remain in the
dark. Those of us Whites who are unfortunate enough to exist alongside
them, try and make the best of a bad situation – sales of diesel &
petrol-driven generators have soared, as have demand for gas-powered
heaters, fridges and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems for
computers and house hold appliances.

In anger, Whites lash out at being the victims of Azanian stupidity and
backwardness, and in lighter moments, we will make fun of their
mind-numbing proclivity to be such utter failures. But few of us
realise the extreme seriousness of the underlying danger. In September
2005, Hurricane Katrina swept through New Orleans, in the Louisiana
state of the USA. New Orleans has always been a predominantly black
city. Days before the disaster, FEMA (Federal Emergency Management
Administration) and several other US governmental agencies warned New
Orleans citizens of the approaching category 5 hurricane. Almost all of
the White citizens immediately packed up and left, whereas a large
majority of the blacks thumbed their noses at the White Man’s silly
meteorological neuroses, and stayed churlishly put. What happened
thereafter is public record, including the pathetic, typically simian
trait of blaming whitey for the consequences of their own actions.

The descent into savagery never before seen in a First World city, of
all places the mighty United States was shocking beyond words. Within
three days, Katrina had knocked out the entire electrical grid, and
with it, telecommunications, radio & TV, water supplies and food.
Although a large part of the city was flooded, the collapse of the
entire civil infrastructure also dragged down the non-flooded
peri-urban areas of greater New Orleans. No electricity meant food
rotting in the fridges. Water supplies and the entire sewage system
were devastated. The entire city was in chaos, and the mostly black
survivors, now desperate for supplies, turned to looting supermarkets
and retail stores to obtain bottled water and canned food. Once you’ve
smashed down the glass doors of a supermarket, it’s not too difficult
to smash the windows of the electronics store next door, so anarchy in
the form of burning, looting and killing came easily to these
half-devil, half child orcs.

After five days, one would have been hard-pressed to find any evidence
of these negroid apes having resided in a civilised country for three
hundred years, as murder, rape, looting and even documented instances
of cannibalism manifested itself. Those black cops who didn’t make
themselves guilty of dereliction of duty by fleeing, were openly
joining in the looting and pillaging of the city.

The United States city of New Orleans took less than five days to
become a Mogadishu or a Freetown – roving gangs of armed, murderous
blacks engaged each other (as well as anyone who got in their way) with
automatic rifles, in an animalistic orgy of mindless violence. When
they gratuitously started spraying US rescue helicopters with automatic
gunfire, the American government realised they had to intervene – and
quickly. National Guard battalions from neighbouring states were sent
in to restore order, and after days of running gun battles in the
streets of the famed Mardi Gras city, the federal government regained
control of the situation.

At this point, the more switched on readers of this blog would easily
have linked the relevance of what happened in New Orleans, to our own
very perilous situation. Imagine an instance where cities like
Johannesburg and Pretoria, or Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban,
were to experience a total rolling blackout, for a period of five or
more days…no power, no telecommunications, no water, no food, no petrol
to get out of the city…New Orleans teaches us that it does not take
much for total and complete anarchy to take root. Add to this the
ever-simmering, just below the surface hatred & envy of the have-nots
against the haves, and you realise you are sitting on a powder keg of
unimaginably scary proportions.

Before Katrina hit, New Orleans was a fairly orderly, civilised place,
despite its high crime rate directly linked to its majority black
inhabitants. Fortunately for New Orleans, the US government was able
draw on a motivated, disciplined militia to restore law and order,
albeit by force. In the New South Africa, an occurrence on the scale of
what happened in New Orleans can never be contained by our demoralised,
HIV-infected SANDF who are either perennially on strike, or simply on
AWOL. The SA Police is feared & considered to be on precisely the same
level as the hordes of murderous street criminals, you are deluded if
you think they will show the slightest interest in restoring law &
order. Put simply, both these arms of the criminal Azanian regime will
enthusiastically join in the free-for-all, except they enjoy the
tactical advantage of having deadly weaponry, bullet-proof vests and
armoured vehicles. If by now you are having visions of the French
rescue of their white citizens from bloodthirsty savage hordes in the
Cote D'Ivoire, you’re getting close...except for us, there will be no
rescue choppers or well-armed White French troops.

In a worst-case scenario like this, matters can easily descend into an
open race war. If Sipho comes bounding over your now useless electric
fence, he will die in a hail of bullets, simple as that. Problem is,
Sipho is likely to be accompanied by a few mates, and your guns do not
have god-mode cheat codes – sooner or later you’re going to run out of
ammo. Secondly, you’re really not all that fond of canned food,
preferring fresh or frozen, so supplies will run out fast. If you
decide to get out of the city, to go visit that long-lost uncle Koos on
the farm, you’ll need a tank of fuel to last you at least 300 km. If
you’re running on empty, you’re in serious trouble. I never would have
imagined repeating what pre-1994 doomsday advisers peddled, but it
might not be a bad idea to check your inventory and put together a
basic survival kit consisting of:

• Ammunition
• Canned food and bottled water
• Candles, handigas canisters, batteries, even a petrol-driven generator
• Fuel, in the form of diesel, petrol and paraffin, for your car and
generator
• A stash of cash, and a valid passport, in case you get the urge to go
check out Gabarone, Mbabane or Windhoek in a hurry

That the supremely incompetent Escom and the notoriously corrupt black
regime will ever regain the ability to provide enough electricity for
this country’s needs is highly unlikely. It is entirely reasonable and
rational to suspect that things will simply get worse. Given the New
Orleans lesson, plus the parlous state of Koeberg and the entire
electrical grid in this turd-world shithole, it is likely that a dark,
vicious Mad Max style future can descend upon us much quicker than we
care to imagine. Remember, it took LESS than five days for a first
world city in the US to descend into utter chaos, and weeks for the
feds to get a handle on things. Here, we have a component of millions
of opportunistic “we wants the white wumminz, and the whites cars, and
the whites houses” ready to pounce. A catastrophic power failure
lasting for days, is all it takes to initiate a dreadful but logical
course of events that will descend rapidly into anarchy. Question is,
will you be ready to deal with it, and to whisk your loved ones to
safety?
