Susan, I'm afraid you're a little late on this subject. I believe that
this will go down as one of the great "missed opportunities" in the
history of the Libertarian Party.

In 2004 I was corresponding with Michael Badnarik about seizing the
opportunity to generate support for the Party by positioning ourselves
as the anti-war, anti-imperialist, anti-police-state vanguard. He wrote
me a polite reply, insisting that his pro-constitutionalist positions
implicitly supported these positions.

Well, of course they do. But now that Ron Paul has EXPLICITLY come out
as an anti-war, anti-statist candidate, and set the libertarian movement
on fire in the process, we longtime Party members are sitting around
scratching our heads, wondering where "our" guys went wrong.

The Party leadership is timid. They want to prattle on about abolishing
the income tax, but say nothing about ending welfare slavery or the war
on drug users. I understand where they're coming from, but quite
frankly, Ron Paul has proved them wrong.

Since 1980, I've been promoting Libertarianism as an antidote to
creeping Statism, warning friends and others that if we don't stand up
to incremental tyranny NOW, our future will bring dictatorship and ruin.
Well, the future is now, the dictatorship is imminent, our empire is
despised worldwide, and economic ruin is increasingly probable. The
Libertarian Party's Moment arrived. Then left.

Maybe the Ron Paul Revolution will wake them up. I hope so. Until then,
this longtime anarcho-capitalist libertarian is voting Republican. This
may be our last opportunity to stave off disaster at the ballot box. If
the Oligarchy wins again--which they probably will--I believe our best
chance lies in RESISTANCE. I hate that it's gotten this bad, but I
believe it has.

a bullet for him now.
