Bob,

Defending the US military in Iraq is bad enough; stating that
they aim at "targets" instead of people is worse; but asking a
stupid question about the video in the subject line, and then
admitting that you haven't watched it (and have no clue about the
topic), is nearly as hilarious as some of Carlin's material. If
you want to argue with a dead comic's routine, maybe you should
see it first. Then, good luck; comedy only has to have an "air"
of credibility to work.

But whatever you do, please stay on topic.

---------------------------------

These days, the US military bombs targets, not people. They have
a very accurate targeting capability, albeit far from perfect.

During the wars in Vietnam, Korea, and Europe, the US military
did indeed bomb people. I'm guessing there has been no group of
people bombed more by the US than the white Germans. (Are
Japanese people "brown"?) During the Cold War, the US built
18,000 or so nuclear warheads intended to vaporize a couple
hundred million white people in Russia.

So where do you get this "bomb brown people" from? I admit I
haven't listened to Carlin since the Hippy Dippy Weatherman days,
so maybe I'm out of touch.

Wendie,

You're right. Assuming most of his audience was American and
white, Carlin bombed the fuck out of them. You know you're
listening to a very special comedian when he starts attacking his
audience, and gets away with it. Of course his point was made by
the stupid reaction of many members in the audience who didn't
even realize he was ridiculing them; they cheered at the notion
of being too incompetent to do anything but bomb brown people -
as if they were at a pep-rally for war.

RIP GC; an original hippie who made it big without ever really
selling out.
