Government "services" that are wanted, such as protection of life and property, defense from foreign invaders, and adjudication of civil and criminal disputes, can be provided by the free market. Government "services" that are not wanted, such as tax collection and drug prohibition, would find no demand in the free market and would not exist.
Astoundingly, what the authors wrote in 1970 is now coming true, with our economy becoming more socialistic and fascistic at the same time. Socialism is government ownership of the means of production (GM).
