My favorite issue is abolishing rent control and rent regulation which
has placed an economic stranglehold on New York City. I sort of own
that issue because no other candidate and no other party has brought
that up. That issue could also bring us some money because there are a
hundred thousand landlords with money that are being hurt by the rent
control laws.

Of course, I want to abolish the drug war, a key point on Libertarian
philosophy, although I am not sure if I will make that one of my main
issues.

Legalized prostitution got 41% of the vote in a recent referendum in
San Francisco. I am not sure it would do so well in New York. Of
course, Libertarians believe that as a matter of human right a woman
has the right to sell her own body.

Legalized marijuana I think will do better. A lot of our young voters
seem to be smoking marijuana now and I think that is a winner.

The main issue is I want to greatly reduce taxes and government
spending. I believe that I can abolish New York State Income tax
altogether because abolishing points one and two above will greatly
reduce the amount of money the government needs to spend on these
items.

Almost every candidate when he runs for office anywhere says that he
will reduce taxes, government spending and government "waste".

Of course, "reducing government waste" is a cop-out saying in effect,
"I will not spend money in a wasteful way. I will spend it in some
other non-wasteful way."

However, if I am elected I can promise that I really will reduce ALL
government spending, not only that part that is wasteful.

Another cop-out is "medical marijuana". Libertarians want to legalize
all marijuana.

Libertarians have a lot of good issues that no other party endorses.
The main thing we need to do is select and emphasize those issues we
can win on.
