I wonder if Attorneys are required to take an oath to uphold the  
constitution like all other public officials. Since they are by definition  
officers 
of  the courts one would think they have to do so. How can they  uphold the 
Constitution  if they have no idea of what it says and less of  an idea of 
what it means. 
 
We have recently found out that many of our elected officials do not want  
to know what it says or means.

When  Pres. Barack Obama presented Elena Kagan as his next Supreme Court 
nominee, he  cited her expertise in constitution law.  He did not cite her 
expertise  in the Constitution, only constitutional law.  

As one pundit has  observed, I think it was Gary North, law schools teach 
case law, not  philosophy of law.   I think something is wrong with that.
