Thanks for the pointers-it is getting quite late where I live right
now but I had been advocating the C++ wrapper quite a bit, in addition
to adapting it specially for my own project. I had been hoping there
would be some consideration to integrate the wrapper and tests more
closely with the rest of the existing libev(ent).

If this can be done, one "off-topic" thing to point out is that the
eventxx wrapper library is "licensed" as public domain and I think
clearly _intended_ for the very most liberal use possible. However, I
recently discovered that in certain countries such as Japan, there is
no specific copyright exemption for "public domain" and specific
terminology such as "copyright free" would be required instead. Some
relevant links:
 * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_domain
 * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright-free
 * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_copyright_law
It appears to me that the public domain dedication in evdns.c, if you
follow the link, addresses at least part of the copyright assignment
issue-at least according to the US law. I am certainly no license
expert, but I think and assume the purpose of the more liberal
licenses is to facilitate use in both open-source and commercial
projects.
