A thought that came up while I was considering yesterday's INL+ParallelMesh telecon as well as some medium-term PECOS+ParallelMesh work:
We could use the serial output formats in parallel, by enabling an output option that essentially writes each processor's partition from that processor as a separate file. We did this a couple years ago in a non-libMesh application as a dirty hack for supporting parallel output, but it should be possible to do in libMesh at the library level. Any thoughts?
