Next week I'm going to present a seminar where I'll talk about the
work I've been doing in the last months (structural mechanics). I've
using libMesh for the results and I'd like to spare some minutes to
talk about it and show some nice examples. In particular I'd like to
show the amr capabilities of libmesh but I don't know anything about
the theory behind it or the implementation. Could any of you give me
some references about the amr method used in libmesh (hanging nodes)?
I just need an introduction to be prepared in case anyone asks me
about it. I read the article about libmesh and the pdf's of
presentations in the website, but I need something more.

On a related note, I learnt about finite elements reading "Finite
Elements - an introduction, vol. 1". Old but good. I've since been
curious about the other volumes but it's impossible to find them here
in Lisbon. A collegue of mine is going to UTaA for a summer school
soon. I was wondering if any of you at UT knows where to obtain a copy
the second volume - "Finite Elements, A Second Course" by Oden and
Carey. Any place where this might be available? Are there any new
editions of these volumes?

Many thanks in advance.
