blitz++ is still alive and we are preparing a new release (0.10,) which will include the new license (LGPLv3+, same as Eigen) and better vectorization support in the near future. In the meantime please use the CVS version, with it no patching is necessary (for newer compilers and 64-bit). In case of any questions please refer to blitz mailing lists on sourceforge.
