The good news is that this doesn't happen any more in 0.5.1.

I'm having another problem. When trying to run mpeg2dec 0.5.1 on my
(64 bit) Fedora systems now I get the following X error:

[libmpeg2-0.5.1]$ src/mpeg2dec -o xv
/usr/src/redhat/BUILD/m2vmp2cut-0.65-dev/sg1.d/sg1.m2v
libmpeg2-0.5.1 - by Michel Lespinasse <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and Aaron Holtzman
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 141 (XVideo)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 ()
Serial number of failed request: 24
Current serial number in output stream: 25

This happens without any "-o" option or with an explicit "-o xv" as
above. Using "-o x11" it works. My X server does have the XVideo
extension:

[~]$ xrdb -symbols | grep XV
-DEXT_XVideo_MotionCompensation
-DEXT_XVideo
