However, the other part was scientific, about positive feedback. Bill was just trying to use psychologist-speak, then engineering-speak, trying to find SOME way for Frank to understand what Bill was saying in other places in less compact but more plain-language ways. Bill's saying that Frank has so disengaged his thinking from the facts that now all he's getting is his own echo, which he takes to be confirmation of facts.
