That's the thing Paul, actually its ST-Link V2.1-1. Which is a new variant
on their ST-Link stuff. It adds enumarating as a composite device (HLA,
Storage, CDC) The latest OpenOCD (0.8) has changes for that, but so far I
have not been able to get it to start on this board. The board spec that is
in the current OCD source doesn't work. (note I've happily used OpenOCD on
the discovery boards for a couple of years at this point).

My guess is that it is the L0/F0 difference at this point. The board seems
to identify itself using idcode 0x0bc11477 which open OCD thinks is a TI
part (that is the only other target that references that idcode), I did
verify I've got the latest firmware on the debug processor. (which I did
have to flash from Windows as Mapko mentioned)

There has been some changes in the way the clock code chains work (they
added some additional clocks for the L0 part) so it may be simply that I
will need to port that aspect of it in order to get LOC3 working. Was
hoping for something simpler :-)
