(2) and (3) are compatabible. I wasn't around at Avalons inception but I
believe (1) was what was intended but it didn't happen so much. Basically
it only collected code from those that belong to same tribe (ie
James/cocoon). (This also assumes it is a library of server-side components
and supporting infrastructure)
