this is great - 20 year study. i'd like to see the full study to see what
they thought might account for the cultural differences in school
continuation (china v. us).  and if they looked at what was read in addition
to presence of books in the home.

shannon, can you dig on the harvard lib journals to get the original
article?  thought you'd be interested particularly b/c of the literacy
angle!
