Rainer, you are correct. But there already appears to be a way to apply bold or
underline. I just can't find a way built into autocorrect to italicize.

My whole need here is that when I am writing, in a particular story there may
be many, many times where a ship name will be written. That name needs to be
italicized. I could, at the end of the story, use find and replace to change
all the names to an italicized version. But repetitious, uncommon edits is what
autocorrect was invented for. :)
