Bug ID: 162531
Summary: Failed to load notebookbar.ui
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.2.5.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
BACKGROUND
==========
I was on Linux Mint 21.3 and had
LibreOffice Calc version info:
Version: 24.2.5.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 420(Build:2)
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.5; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-CA (en_CA.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Ubuntu package version: 4:24.2.5~rc2-0ubuntu0.22.04.1~lo1
Calc: threaded
installed via a PPA ( https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/libreoffice/ppa/ubuntu
).
I upgraded to Linux Mint 22. This involved uninstalling LibreOffice, upgrading
to Linux Mint 22, and reinstalling LibreOffice. I now have
Version: 24.2.5.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 420(Build:2)
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (C.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Ubuntu package version: 4:24.2.5-0ubuntu0.24.04.2
Calc: threaded
via apt.
There's been one LibreOffice upgrade via apt since I upgraded to Linux Mint 22.
ISSUE
=====
I invoke Calc from the command line: "soffice stuff.ods &"
I get this warning when I access "Tools -> Customize...": 'I/O warning : failed
to load external entity
"/home/user/.config/libreoffice/4/user/config/soffice.cfg/modules/scalc/ui/notebookbar.ui"'
This did not happen before the Linux Mint 22 upgrade.
This file does not currently exist in my "~/.config/libreoffice" tree, so the
warning is correct. However, in my backups I see this file did exist in the
tree, but from Jan 2024 before I rebuilt my PC. I don't recall what version of
LibreOffice I used to have installed, but likely a 24.x via PPA, on Ubuntu
18.04.
I've figured out that the missing file is related to "View -> User
Interface...". I don't believe I've ever touched or customized that.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade from the 25.2.4.2 rc2 version?
Actual Results:
Warning is issued
Expected Results:
No warning. Probably the missing file should be created with a default version,
which is what the old copy I have appears to be.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
I'll attach my old notebookbar.ui file as a reference.
LibreOffice version info is documented above.
Starting Calc via "soffice --safe-mode stuff.ods &" exhibits the same issue.
