I wonder... Do you actually have "Liberation sans" installed on your Windows OS? Could this be some problem related to font substitution? Another test: select the problematic cell, open the context menu of that cell, and select "Clear direct formatting". Then apply (to the same cell) some built-in style (e.g. "Heading 1").
