            Bug ID: 162960
Summary: LibreOffice 24.02 crashes on first startup under
                    Ubuntu 24.04 -- apparmor, oosplash
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 24.2.5.2 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Base
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Recently upgraded from Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04 LTS. The upgrade was not entirely
without issue, but did complete apparently successfully. However, when I
started up LibreOffice Calc this morning (a week or so later), I didn't even
see splash. Starting from the terminal gets the error below about failing to
fork a process. The syslog error is in Other Information.

Disabling the following seems to be a workaround:
/etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.libreoffice.program.oosplash

Steps to Reproduce:
Start libreoffice from a terminal:
> libreoffice

Actual Results:
ERROR 4 forking process

Expected Results:
startup

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
syslog:
