Bug ID: 163517
Summary: Writer crashes when inserting or editing a table of
contents if the template is not Default
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.8.1.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
1. Using Version: 24.8.2.1, Create a Writer document with the “Simple” template
or with a user-custom template. Do not use the Default template.
2. Add some text with headings using styles.
3. Attempt to insert a Table of Contents: Insert → Table of Contents and Index
→ Table of Contents, Index or Bibliography.
Writer crashes while trying to open the dialog.
If reopened in Safe Mode, the TOC can be inserted without problem.
Once the TOC is inserted and saved, and LO is run in Normal Mode, Writer
crashes for the document when the Edit Index option is selected.
If reopened in Safe Mode, the TOC can be edited without problem.
Finally, if the document has the Default template, LO Writer does not crash in
Normal mode when inserting or editing the TOC.
This issue did not occur in v7.6. v24.8.2.1 is the first time I have used any
v24, so I do not not if the issue is present in earlier versions of v24.
