Bug ID: 163629
Summary: Writer now slow to load
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.6.6.3 release
Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
LibreOffice Writer now takes 4 minutes to load my document.
Previously seconds...
Steps to Reproduce:
1.just open the document
Actual Results:
I suspect a Windows upgrade.
Previously the Writer document would load in seconds.
I was on 24.8.2 and back revd to 24.2.6 and lastly to 7.6.6.3 - which I am
confident was Ok befoore.
This is a recent problem, perhaps 2-3 weeks.
I also retrieved a copy of my document from backup USB that I know was OK with
loading. It too now is a problem with 7.6.6.3 at took 4 minutes to load.
It sits there and Writer says 'not responding'. When it does finally appear and
I click it an hourglass pops up and I still have to wait.
I watched in Task manager. The following varied...
- Microsoft Windows Search FIlter Host 8%+
- Microsoft Windows Search Indexer 8%+
- Microsoft Windows Search Protocal Host 1.3%+
while LibreOffice [Writer only in use] showed 18.3% CPU, Memory 1,654MB.
The file on disk is 3314KB.

Expected Results:
I hoped the bac rev might fix it.
But seems likw a Windows issue.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
I will install the current waiting Microsoft upgrades and retest.
Otherwise I lose this report :)
