However I first found the issue when auto-upgrade put me to 24.8.2. I back-reved to 24.2? and then to 7.6.6.3 as I knew Writer was OK a few months ago. When that did not solve my slow load problem I blamed Microsoft as there had been a number of upgrades from them - ie the only changes to my PC were <icrosoft or Libre Office wersions. And as you mentioned Java - that is on autoupgrade too. Java 8.0.3710.11. Java says it works on browser settings? Both Chrome and Firefox claim to be 64bit.
