Bug ID: 163632
Summary: Database cannot be saved under a different name
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.2.6.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Base
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I have a database on which I work frequently over 15 years at least. Rarely I
had problems, but since problems occurred more often in recent times, I created
a script that automatically creates a backup copy every day, just to be sure,
because recovery from the LO-backup has never functioned (the file in the
backups folder has always 0 bytes). Yesterday and today I wanted to work on it,
but I got a "general error" when trying to open the file which I had worked on
a few weeks ago without problems (just editing some fields). So I picked the
latest functioning backup file which dates 3 weeks ago. I did some editing, but
didn't want to save it straight away over the existing copy, which was probably
a good idea. Because when I saved it as... (odf-database for sure), the result
was a small odb file about 1.8 kB, while the original was about 1.6 MB. The
newly saved database contains:
NETA-INF/manifest.xml (562 B)
content.xml (3.1 kiB)
mimetype (39 B)
settings.xml (846 B)
That's all. content.xml contains only header info, no actual data. I tried it
several times, all with the same result. Syving the database directly under the
current name seems to work, however. For safety reasons, I tried that with a
copy of the file...

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a database
2. change it (or don't, I think that doesn't matter)
3. save it under a different name/location
Actual Results:
All contents of the database is being lost
Expected Results:
The database is saved with all its contents.
Reproducible: Always
