Same test with internal Firebid an a field with 660 kB. No problems. Sometimes, when working with a file and changing something and save the file with a different name all tables will disappear. Might be this depends of some running macros. But when I close the file and reopen I could work also with this new file. So I can't reproduce the buggy behavior. Please rename user profile for starting with fresh profile and retest. If it doesn't help: Try to install original version of LO. Might be it is a bug of the files of the distribution you use.
