Bug ID: 163654
Summary: Expanding the reference section with lots of
references slows down writer
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.8.2.1 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I'm working on my dissertation and am using LibreOffice in combination with
Zotero.
I'm working with a 100 page document with lots of references added through
Zotero (around 800).
When having the navigator open in the sidebar and having the list of references
expanded, there is a noticeable lag when typing anything in the document. The
problem subsides as soon as the reference section is collapsed again. The
problem also occurs when opening the same document in safe mode and after
uninstalling the Zotero add-on, so that is not to blame here.
Because the document is my dissertation, I cannot upload it here.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a large document with lots of references.
2. Open the navigator view in the sidebar and expand the references section.
3. Start typing somewhere in the document
Actual Results:
There is noticeable lag while typing
Expected Results:
Typing is instantaneous.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
