Bug ID: 163965
Summary: Writer freezes permanently upon closing an opened
document
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.8.3.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
This happens randomly. Writer freezes when closing a document. Requires to be
killed from a task manager panel. Usually this is followed by a document
recovery dialog/crash report, but not always. I've never seen this behavior
with an empty/new document, only with something opened first. Doesn't matter
how long the document stays open, it can happen after closing it in 1 minute or
after 5 hours.
I'm not able to reproduce this behavior on the fly - looks random to me. I've
experienced this in a couple of previous versions, but with 24.8.3.2 it happens
far too often.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an existing document
2. Edit opened document
3. Save opened document and close Writer
Actual Results:
Writer freezes upon closing, must be killed from the task manager panel.
Expected Results:
Writer is closed, nothing happens.
Reproducible: Sometimes
User Profile Reset: Yes
