Sure.
But the same would be true if, before printing a document (text or
spreadsheet), I had to change the document background color to none (or white).

Document background color is an application colors option, the same as spelling
mistakes color (red by default), and I suppose that there are few people who
want to print a text showing the red line below the mistakes.

This principle is related to when you need to export a Draw document as PDF.
The document gets the background color of the application, or if a page
background is selected, it works up to the margin (then you get the application
background color).
