But without a proper record in the mimeapps.list, which is checked by `xdg-mime query default "x-scheme-handler/mailto"` in xdg-email, it's completely impossible for that command to know that Thunderbird is used, and pass the attachments correctly there (since Thunderbird itself ignores attachments directly defined in the mailto URIs). The correct TB registration, if possible, would be the correct local fix for this.
