Bug ID: 165684
Summary: FILEOPEN .csv
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.8.2.1 release
Hardware: ARM
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
I didn't intend to file a bug but Help->Feedback->Enhancement request brings me
here with no other obvious pages.
When opening a new .csv after LibOffice has been closed the 'import' section of
the dialog box for FileOpen remembers the last used setting for "from row".
This small detail caused me a lot of confusion because a few days ago I was
importing a .csv and started from row 7.
Today I imported a stock market closing .csv and could not figure out why the
import was not starting the correct place. I assumed a bad file download. But
opening in a text file showed I had everything I expected.
I bumbled around for sometime before the ah-ha moment arrived and I changed
'row 7' back to the default 'row 1'.
Perhaps remembering "from row" is an intended feature. And I'm using an older
version of LibOffice because I simply don't need the latest and greatest. So
maybe this is different in the latest version.
This comment is simply to inform you of my observation and I leave it to you to
decide if it qualifies for further action.
Thank you for the great product.
