And why can't we do some complex things quickly? Several text editors have
"quick" search widgets - with regexp support. Think of VI, or gedit, for
example.

Also, suppose I remember a term that I don't remember exactly. It's
post-something-ism, but - I don't remember what the "something" is. Well, I'll
just do a quick search for 

  /post.*ism/i

and with match-case turned off and regex search turned on, I can just use:

  post.*ism

in the search box. What's simpler than that? ... of course, for the person who
knows about regular expression and has enabled them.
