That's something I'm also aware of – that one should either use Unicode
directly or write in a Preeti font and then convert it to Unicode. The outcome
of both is the same: to use Unicode so that word-breaking issues don't occur.

However, my point is that most people use Preeti font or similar fonts based on
Latin script mappings. And in my experience, when you write in Preeti font and
then convert it to Unicode, many characters get corrupted, especially in verbs.

For instance, 'र्याल' and 'र्‍याल' might look the same, but their formation is
different. One 'र्याल' might be represented as /\ofn and another 'र्‍याल' as 
[=ofn.
Such significant differences occur, and after conversion, there's a high
probability of the meaning becoming incorrect.
