In October 2024, LanguageTool has stopped updating/supporting their LibreOffice
extension.

What likely happened is you had a very old/outdated version of LanguageTool,
which was making your LO very unstable and causing it to crash.

Remove the old LanguageTool completely, and your LibreOffice should go back to
being stable.

If you still want "offline grammarchecking", then there is a newer extension
called:

- WritingTool

which can be found:

- LOExtension site
--- https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/extensions/show/99240
- Website
--- https://writingtool.org/index.php/en/
- Github
--- https://github.com/writingtool-org/writingtool

This is pretty much a "spiritual successor" to the old LanguageTool extension:

- It uses LanguageTool for grammarchecking.
- It then adds on a few optional "AI" / rewriting features as well.

It is made by the same exact developer (Fred Kruse) who was maintaining the LO
LanguageTool extension for many years.

If you still want to use "LanguageTool" itself, and don't mind "online
grammarchecking", then you can always:

- Use the built-in LanguageTool functionality
   - (It's been inside LibreOffice since 7.6, you just have to enable it!)

It can be found under:

- Tools > Options
- Language and Locales > LanguageTool Server

For more info on that, see the comment I wrote in:

Any of those 2 solutions should be infinitely more stable than the
old/unsupported LanguageTool extension. :)
