The ODF changes to support this feature were already added for ODF 1.2, but
were never implemented.

Emphasizing this, because it's an important distinction: This flag does not
allow an implementation to automatically decide paragraph direction during
layout. This flag allows an implementation to replace the value of
style:writing-mode when the contents of a paragraph have been edited.

The ODF standard does not describe any algorithm for automatic detection, but
due to this design it is not necessary for them to do so. Applications with
incompatible algorithms should display the content the same, and should only
behave differently during editing.
