Bug ID: 169007
Summary: LibreOffice 25.8.2.2 Calc format row height default
value overrides the value I enter.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.1.1 release
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I don't know if this is a bug or my misunderstanding of how it is supposed to
work. I created a new spreadsheet, selected all cells, set the row height to
.20", edited the default cell style to set the font to 12 point Times New
Roman, saved it as a default template. When I open a new spreadsheet the row
height is .20" and the font is set to 12 point Times New Roman as expected. So
far so good.
In the new spreadsheet if I select "Format>Rows>Height" from the menu the "Row
Height" dialog box opens with a "Height" of .20". The "Default value" box is
unchecked. If I check the "Default value" box the "Height" value changes to
.18". I expected the default value to be taken from my new default template.
I don't know where the default value of .18" came from and I can't figure out
how to change it.
The Help module for Row Height says Default value "Adjusts the row height to
the size based on the default template." Am I missing a step to change the row
height in the default template or is this a bug in how the "Default value"
check box works?
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create new spreadsheet
2.Select all cells
3.Select Format>Rows>Height from the menu
4.Change the Height value. In my case I changed it from .18" to .20"
5.Press F11 to open Styles sidebar deck
6.Right-click "Default" and select "Edit Style" from the context menu
7.Change Font to "Times New Roman", 12 point and click "OK"
8.Select Files>Templates>Save as template from the menu bar
9.Enter template name "My default", select "My Templates" category, check "Set
as default template" box, click "Save"
10.Exit LibreOffice
11.Start LibreOffice, create Calc spreadsheet
12.Select Format>Rows>Height from the menu
13.Check and uncheck the "Default values" box in the "Row Height" dialog box
and observe how it changes the "Height" value
Actual Results:
When "Default value" box is checked "Height" is .18".
When "Default value" box is unchecked "Height" is .20".
Expected Results:
When "Default value" box is checked "Height" should be .20".
When "Default value" box is unchecked "Height" should be .20".
If the "Height" value is modified checking the "Default value" box should
restore the "Height" value to .20", the value set in the template which was
saved as default.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
