Cannot reproduce bug as described:

Version: 24.8.7.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: 480(Build:2)
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.17; UI render: default; VCL: kf6 (cairo+wayland)
Locale: nb-NO (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Inkscape 1.4.2

However, there are still an issue with vertical position for some text
elements.
