--- Comment #9 from [email protected] --- Hello Onyeibo, *, sorry for the long absence, but too busy in RL ... :( (In reply to comment #7) > Jacques, it is like that here. That does not address the problem. > I am running LibreOffice on Linux (fedora-19) > > Let me describe the situation differently: > (1) I set System Volume to 50% (top-right corner in Gnome3) > (2) I browse to the .odp file using nautilus and double-click to open > (3) After LibreOffice loads the .odp file I check system volume again Would you be so kind to start LO from commandline and then either create a new presentation or load an existing one, please? Which kind of *.odp are you loading here? One with sound or one without? > (4) Mine shoots to 100% (full blast). This is weird in a studio setting as > this can damage eardrums, stress speakers and shock listeners. I am > constantly on edge with this phenomenon while doing a presentation because > each time a sound clip plays its so loud that I have to manually readjust PC > volume. I still cannot reproduce it, sorry ... :( But if I start from commandline, I get loads of messages like <quote> Cannot connect to server socket err = Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden Cannot connect to server request channel jack server is not running or cannot be started Cannot connect to server socket err = Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden Cannot connect to server request channel jack server is not running or cannot be started </quote> ... As I am using alsa here (AFAIK) and not this jack server, it is not disturbing at all, but maybe you have installed this jack server and your mentioned pulse server. Maybe that leads to an increase in loudness ... HTH Thomas. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
