            Bug ID: 170752
Summary: For styles, make hierarchical view a separate choice
                    from the style type filter
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 3.3.0 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
At present, LO Writer has a large number of built-in styles that are not easily
hidden and so clutter up the styles view. It is possible to select to view 'all
styles', 'hierarchical view' - which includes all styles, 'applied styles', or
'custom styles'. It is not possible to view only custom or applied styles, but
in a hierarchical view.

I suggest separating the view control (hierarchical or not) and the style
filter (all, applied, custom, etc). This would allow a useful hierarchical view
of only the filters of interest.

In my use case, I use almost entirely custom styles that are hierarchical, with
the top of each branch inheriting from 'None'. I use the hierarchical view, and
collapse the 'Default paragraph style' branch. However, it often opens up of
its own accord,* leaving my useful custom styles well below a long list of
built-in styles I _don't_ use. The ability to view only custom styles in a
hierarchical way would avoid this.

I know better style management is a long-standing request (though I can't seem
to find the bug report). However, I think this separation of filter from
hierarchical view could meet the desires of those wanting a pared-down but
hierarchical list of visible styles without deleting the built-in styles (which
would be my preference, but I understand is not a desired outcome for others).

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Styles toolbar
2.Click Hierarchical view or Custom view
3.

Actual Results:
There's no way to get a hierarchical view of anything other than 'All styles'

Expected Results:
Show a hierarchical view of only the styles filtered for.

1. Separate the hierarchical view and the style filter
or
2. Allow deletion of built-in styles
or
3. Truly hide (not grey out) 'hidden' styles

Reproducible: Always
