A proposal to change default styles or add more styles has nothing to do with
Markdown import.

The importer already does styling *for block quotes* as you said.

This to me seems like a bug and I confirm it. I would change this report to be
about that as it blocks what you want to achieve. I'm not sure, if we have any
prior examples of formats and how they behave. I didn't test with HTML and
can't find any reports about it.
