--- Comment #4 from Dan <[email protected]> --- Thanks for reminding me of this. After more research on my part, I discovered the issue ran a bit deeper. Let me explain: 1 - I have been scanning articles in .pdf via ReadIris PDF 23 into .docx files. 2 - I then edit those files with LibreOffice and notice that they are 2007 formatted files. 3 - I try to save the files as Word 2010-365 Documents, but each time I open the file, I am back to the 2007 formatted file. 4 - I found that if you open the file with Word, and go to file, it adds a Compatibility Mode box that lets you convert the file to the newer format. If you do so, then things start to work predictably. 5 - So, in summary, Word can see something in the ReadIris PDF 23 files that it can fix that LibreOffice does not see and cannot fix. That seems to be the root of the problem -- a broken app causing issues for LibreOffice. But, it feels like an opportunity in that LibreOffice should be able to see and fix and convert these broken files like Word does? I have attached a sample file that is straight from ReadIris and broken for your testing pleasure. I have a second, much larger, file that is also broken, but strangely enough, LibreOffice can open and edit it -- Word cannot. That one is available if you want it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
