The topic was on the agenda of the design meeting.

Ultimately we should solve the issue with broken references and undo. One idea
could be to keep the name =$Sheet1.A1 instead of replacing it with =$#REF!.A1 -
the cell shows #NAME? instead of #REF! in this case. Doing so allows to undo
the sheet deletion (with all usual shortcomings). Or is there a reason to not
do so? => needsdevadvice

We should still show the warning, not least because of the number of sheets to
delete, but with an option to "[ ] Do not show again" to make everyone happy.

As low hanging fruits the string could be amended by "Deleting the sheet will
destroy references".
